Singer and songwriter Natalie Merchant debuted an album of classic children’s poems set to music and then translated that work into this engaging collection of poetry for children. She includes a wide range of verses and poems by a variety of British and American poets such as Edward Lear, Jack Prelutsky and even a child poet from yesteryear, Nathalia Crane. These are accompanied by beautiful paintings by artist Barbara McClintock to create an engaging and memorable whole. A full-length CD of the recordings is included in the book, adding a rich aural dimension that offers multiple sharing opportunities.
